We go to our local pub for a Sunday carvery called the square and compass in pontyates. There is roast pork and beef cooked to absolute perfection. My experience of carveries is that they tend to over cook their meat but never have I been disappointed here.

It’s served with all the trimmings and mountains of veg and most importantly they let you have a Yorkshire pudding even if you’re not having beef! You can also have as many roast potatoes as you like.

I like my Sunday roasts swimming in tasty gravy and they give plenty. I recommend a Sunday roast here any day – check out all their old school walking sticks of different designs as well all around the pub.
